Franchise Team Opens First Clinic in Boise with Massive Growth Plans to Follow

BOISE, ID. – (March 3, 2020) – American Family Care (AFC), the nation’s leading provider of urgent care, accessible primary care and occupational medicine, expands its national care network with the opening of the latest AFC urgent care center in Boise, Idaho.

The state-of-the-art facility in the Garden City area is now open and is the first of six locations in the region planned by the franchise team of Spencer Smith and Mike Weir.

“Boise is a growing market. We are thrilled to start off our future with AFC there and bring quality healthcare to the area and give patients another option for care,” says Smith. “We started treating people the day we opened our doors and the volume has steadily increased.”

Boise is just the beginning. Smith and Weir have plans to open 30 AFC locations across the country. Their second location in Farmington, New Mexico is scheduled to open in April.

Spencer Smith is no stranger to franchising. Over the years, he has been involved with six different franchise systems over the years – from tires to televisions - but was looking for a business that would allow him to good and help people.

I’m very excited about the future growth of American Family Care, not only from a personal standpoint, but for the franchise as a whole. There is a lot of untapped potential in the urgent care space and AFC is leading the way to bring much needed service to America,” adds Smith. “It was also important for me to be part of an industry that is not easily disrupted by technology, yet also be a disrupter. If you think about it, urgent care is the disrupter to the traditional primary care office.”

AFC urgent care centers provide a comprehensive suite of medical services that save families time and money.  The centers are staffed with skilled medical professionals who are deeply committed to providing outstanding medical care.

AFC Services

  • State –of-the-Art Diagnostics – Digital x-ray equipment allows AFC staff to take and read x-rays within minutes. Patients are provided with copies on a C.D. upon discharge.
  • Laboratory On-Site – AFC’s on-site laboratory provides a wide variety of lab work with results available within minutes.
  • Occupational Health Exams and Workers’ Compensation Cases – These services include D.O.T. physicals, urine drug screens, and breath-alcohol tests.

AFC Boise is located at 6965 North Glenwood Street in Garden City and offers extended hours. The center is open Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Urgent care is a convenient, economical alternative to visiting a hospital emergency room. Our staff at AFC can treat everything from cuts, bruises and fractures, to colds and flu,” said Smith.

“Patients choose AFC because we are part of the community and we care deeply about keeping them healthy.”
