About Us

Teams of Tomorrow (TOT) was founded in 1990 by Kim Thomas of West Monroe, Louisiana. Kim’s love for basketball, music, and education are all a part of the TOT program.  It is quite a mix!   Since 2008, many children, families and entrepreneurs have benefitted from this amazing experience that TOT offers.  TOT franchisees are not basketball gurus …. they are kid loving, people servers, and world changers!

Teaching a TOT Class

Whether you have a background bouncing a basketball or not, you will find that becoming a TOT teacher is a fun and energetic job. Each class is set to music and voiceovers that instruct the class what to do minute by minute.

How it Works

Your TOT business is one that you can operate out of your home. You will market to the preschools/daycare centers in your area. Once the decision-maker has approved of you adding value to their preschool or daycare center, you will begin marketing to parents to sign their children up for your TOT class.

As a TOT franchise owner, you will have the ability to decide whether you want to teach TOT classes or hire your own TOT teachers. The beauty is you are in control of how many hours you work each week. Whether you decide to become a “Ms. TOT” yourself or act as managing director, you will be well trained on everything from “how to market to preschools” to “how to bounce and catch a basketball.”

The Preschool Program

Approximately 900 preschool programs in 13 states offer TOT each year.  The preschool  directors appreciate the on-site classes that TOT brings to their families.  The nine-month program includes structured weekly classes that incorporate music, physical movement, hand eye coordination, and brain use to maximize growth and boost confidence for those little ones. Over the course of the program, preschoolers learn 25 ball-handling skills and get the opportunity to perform those skills at the halftime of a basketball game. The halftime performance is an experience that sets TOT apart from other extra-curricular programs in the preschool market. The students perform at local high schools, universities and NBA teams.  They even perform at many of the Harlem Globetrotter shows! 

The Elementary Program

While the preschool program is the primary focus for the franchise owners, the elementary program is a great additional offering that is available also. The five-month program allows elementary children to learn creative ball-handling skills and perform those skills at the halftime of a basketball game – again, the TOT kids have performed on several NBA courts and with the Harlem Globetrotters!

Dribbling with Purpose

Along with learning the ball handling and dribbling skills, the preschool TOT kids also get to learn a new academic concept each week that will further prepare them for kindergarten. Whether they are learning that red and yellow make orange, or how to count in French, they are absorbing these academics basics while their brains and bodies are ready to receive it. TOT grows students athletically AND academically!
