SIT STILL KID’S SALON LAUNCHES NEW PORTLAND LOCATION, EXPANDED EXECUTIVE TEAM AND FRANCHISING OPPORTUNITIES

New team poised to bring innovative salon-retail hybrid for children nationwide
PORTLAND, ORE. Sit Still Kid’s Salon is pleased to announce a major step forward for its business, with an expanded executive team, a brand-new location off Portland’s N. Williams Avenue, and the launch of a nationwide franchising initiative. Founded in 2007 in West Linn, Ore., by former sales executive Nhu Vo, the salon-retail hybrid has grown over the last 11 years into a solid, steady business with a fine-tuned operational structure — and is now ready to expand.

“It has always been my vision to grow Sit Still”, says Founder Nhu Vo.
“I love the creative process and am thrilled to take our concept and lead the industry, nationally.”

What’s Sit Still?
Simply put, Sit Still is a kid’s salon unlike any other. Born out of Nhu’s bewilderment that there were very few children’s hair salons in Portland, the brand brings stylish haircuts for kids in a fun yet sophisticated environment alongside flawless customer service — with the option for parents to shop a thoughtfully curated retail selection while they’re waiting. Ultimately, Sit Still is a company committed to over-delivering on an experience that, at other salons, is considered a drag. Their stylists and staff love kids, understand parents and know that every single moment in a Sit Still chair matters.

First stop: Portland
The first order of business? The home salon’s move to a new location at 70 N. Mason Street in NE Portland (February opening date). Sit Still will be the premier destination for families in North Portland and is easily accessible from all corners of the city. The Williams salon is fully staffed with top-talent Stylists and Management.
The salon will feature  car-shaped salon chairs from the Good Mod, a Portland-based design firm specializing in custom-made modern furniture. Parents can enjoy a cold-brew or single-serve wine-in-a-can in the well-appointed lounge area; plus, the Sit Still shop will be brimming with the most sought-after kid’s hair products, toys and gifts.

The space also features a modern and functional design, thanks to Portland design firm Open Studio Collective —  including ample locations for photo opportunities (in other words, totally Instagram-able).
Expanded Executive Team
Joining Nhu is franchising experts and barre3 veterans Amy Leclerc (President), Jenni Johnson (SVP, Franchise Operations) and Caroline Weiner (SVP, New Salon Development). Together, the Sit Still team is an example of what happens when four women combine complementary skills and experience, seize an opportunity, and set an industry on fire. These are creative women with entrepreneurial minds, an eye for retail and over 30 years of franchising experience combined. Plus — they’re all moms.

“I’ve had my eye on Sit Still for years. It’s where I’ve taken both of my kids for cuts,” says Amy Leclerc, President.  “Sit Still has all of the components of an ideal franchise model: it’s simple, it’s not a trend, and it’s transferable nationwide. That said, what makes Sit Still different is the brand behind the business, Sit Still is modern and fresh, something completely lacking in this space.”

Nationwide Franchising Initiative
Having built a solid brand with a proven business model, the company’s long-term vision puts Sit Still in every major city across the country. And for franchise partners, Sit Still presents the opportunity for one partner to own multiple locations within a region — like the Portland metro area (which is already spoken for ) — with the support of a team of seasoned experts.
