Local Brightway Agency Donation Provides 16 Million Gallons of Fresh Water For Zimbabwe Children and Families

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. (April 30, 2015) – Dimitri Apostle, owner of Brightway, The Dimitri J. Apostle Agency in Charlotte, has made a donation to the Friendship Foundation for Zimbabwe that will enable the organization to buy 16 water filters; each filter is capable of producing 1 million gallons of fresh drinking water for children and families in the southern African country. 

Brightway Insurance, with headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla., is a national property/casualty insurance retailer selling through a network of 117 franchised independent agencies throughout in 10 states.

“My son’s soccer coach, Patrick Daka, is a Zimbabwe native and co-founder of The Friendship Foundation,” said Apostle. “I committed to donate two dollars for each policy I quoted through my Brightway agency from January to March and was able to donate $810 to the foundation. It’s a small effort that nets huge benefits.”

Apostle will make a similar donation to the Missionaries of the Poor in Monroe, N.C. by donating money for each policy quoted from April to June.

The Friendship Foundation for Zimbabwe raises money for the purchase of water filters and to fund soccer camps for children in the country. The organization was co-founded by Daka who began playing professional soccer in 2004 with the Charlotte Eagles.

“Soccer brings people from all walks of life together,” said Daka. “We are very grateful for the donation. It will make a big difference in many peoples’ lives.”
