GREAT AMERICAN COOKIES® FRANCHISEE OPENS 10TH LOCATION IN LAWRENCEVILLE, GA.

ATLANTA - Oct. 23, 2008 – Great American Cookies has announced the opening of a new store in Lawrenceville, Ga. The new Great American Cookies, located in Discover Mills, opened its doors for business on September 11. The store is owned and operated by Darryl Light who currently owns nine other locations, including the very first Great American Cookies store, which opened in Atlanta in 1977. The brand is owned by NexCen Franchise Management, a subsidiary of NexCen Brands, Inc. (NASDAQ: NEXC) ("NexCen"), parent company of Great American Cookies.

The new store demonstrates Great American Cookies' sustained efforts to expand throughout the country. With their signature cookie cakes and trademark flavors, the brand is a popular staple in malls nationwide, with stores in nearly 300 locations. Additionally, as a participant in the recently added online cookie cake ordering system, the Lawrenceville store makes it even easier for customers to order signature cookie cakes.
