#1 Internet Franchise "WSI" recognized for
online consumer security

Their guns are keyboards. Their bullets are words. Their reach is global. They are the rip off artists of the cyber “wild west”, systematically sending out false information and operating bogus franchises, schemes, operations, businesses, false corporations, organizations, non-profit groups, banks and so much more. Though they don’t wear bandanas to cover their faces, they don’t need to; under a false name, they steal from unsuspecting people who invest in their rip offs.

In response to these criminal scammers and the millions they take from the wallets of their prey each year, a new consumer advocacy program has been launched by the WSI Net Scam – Ripoff Coalition whose mission will be to act as a fraud consumer advocacy watchdog. By disseminating up-to-date information on the latest counterfeit schemes, operations, and franchises (as investigated by WSI volunteers), the Coalition hopes to stop these cyber felons in their tracks. After all, if the fakes can use the Internet as their weapon of choice, why can’t honest people use the Internet to bring them down by providing information on bogus schemes?

The WSI program will attack conspiracy theories, thereby protecting legitimate business operations by exposing fakes. Through “buyer beware” alerts, WSI hopes to minimize the amount of consumers who fall victim to false advertising, franchise troubles, rip off artists, and internet-based pyramid structures. Chameleons who prey on and steal from unsuspecting consumers beware – WSI intends to bring down dirty business schemes.
By calling attention to pyramid schemes, misleading emails, high pressure sales, and fake businesses, WSI hopes to have a positive effect on the global economy. Is it a far-reaching goal? Yes. But it’s not unattainable. WSI actually sees cyber space as a new “world” that has yet to be tapped. Unfortunately, there are always chameleons who take advantage of emerging societies such as those belonging to the Internet. It is those rip off artists that WSI is determined to bring to justice.

But how will WSI make a dent in the world of cyber swindling?

First, WSI will host a masterfile of personal testimonies gathered by WSI volunteers and also submitted to WSI by consumers who experienced horrible support or generally poor response time from illegitimate businesses or who lost money after succumbing to hard sell approaches. These testimonies will provide the public and the media with true accounts of despicable business schemes and practices by con artists. They will also give strength and information to victims who choose to pursue lost money or file a claim against the cyber criminals.

This firsthand education will give the public the ability to avoid fraudulent activities in cyberspace; in fact, the WSI Rip off consumer advocacy program hopes to be at the forefront of prevention education when it comes to the cessation of consumer victimization via the Internet. By exposing the liars and cheats who run their scams under the auspices of legitimacy, WSI expects to make the cyber universe a safer place to buy and sell.
Through WSI alerts, WSI press releases, WSI articles, and WSI advice, consumers will soon be able to spot rip off “red flags”, thereby avoiding a scam. With questions and essays such as “Did An Online Organization Violate Your Trust?” and “Do You Know How Scammers Operate Pyramid Schemes?”, the WSI Coalition plans to be the most informative place for consumers who want to avoid bad experiences and unhappy customers, ensuring that their online transactions and dealings are on the “up and up”.
Secondly, WSI wants to be a clearinghouse of information for persons who have already fallen victim to dishonest online practices. Let’s face it – millions of individuals unsuspectingly join multi level marketing scams, and their bankruptcy stories as unhappy franchisees and unhappy customers gall us. However, most of those who have fallen prey don’t come forward.

Are they embarrassed because they allowed themselves to be defrauded (and possibly ended up broke)? Probably. In fact, the more educated the victim, the less likely he or she is to fight for his or her rights. This is due to basic human nature that says, “Never let anyone know the ‘skeletons’ in your closet!”
WSI wants to change that mentality, though. Instead of being hesitant, the WSI coalition encourages victims to exercise their personal power by sharing their stories of… “I fell for their lies!”

By being honest and open about scammers, more prey will be able to finally lift their heads and stand up for themselves, too, by adding, “Hey! They lied to me, too!” There is truly strength in sharing information - especially when it comes to halting illegal activities.
Of course, WSI realizes that not all individuals are willing to admit to having fallen for scams run by ripoff operators and company liars. No matter what, they cannot overcome feeling like “fools” for having gotten involved with company liars. Even though they know their voices could protect others from shady business dealings, they just cannot come forward.

To those persons, the WSI consumer advocacy has just one request – please join our email list… become a participant (anonymously, if you wish), but do join. That way, you’ll be able to help others without revealing your identity. WSI’s mission isn’t to expose anyone except the con artists’ rip offs and you’ll never be asked to join any class action lawsuit – as this is something that the coalition has found generally to be futile. WSI only wants to stop the scammers who are distributing fake information and operating online scams; but the volunteers will always value your confidentiality. After all, you’ve been pressured enough!

Finally, the WSI advocacy coalition expects to be a news outlet of sorts by providing up-to-date information on exposed scams, poor business ethics, and highly misleading advertising. And though it is not a legal organization and cannot therefore provide specific information or advice on case laws, business law, international law, corporate law or franchise law, it will be an invaluable resource for consumers (not attorneys) should they wish to prosecute through efficient channels against the same old scams that have been around since the beginning of humanity.

WSI also intends to become a “destination spot” for those looking for consumer advocacy on the web (in fact, you’re encouraged to make it your home page today!) By being “the place” to learn how to avoid a scam on the net, WSI expects to be used as a resource for consumers – not legal professionals including lawyers, investigators, government agents, and media personnel, but for consumers to be able to learn to protect themselves online. In fact, WSI will disseminate regular information regarding phishing, scamming, and spamming in the forms of WSI alert emails.

Because other advocacy programs also exist, WSI intends to learn from them, thereby further informing the public about the lies that are being peddled as truth in the online “wild west”. The more information that can reach the public, the better; otherwise, legitimate online businesses and their customers will suffer.

But WSI’s consumer advocacy program cannot proceed fully without the help of persons like you. By visiting their site, telling everyone you know about their mission, and (if you’ve been victimized by online swindling) contributing anecdotal evidence about the ugly truth regarding cyber criminals and their con games, you’ll be helping to make the Internet a safer community for all.

You can also help yourself by becoming an informed consumer. Make sure you research products and services thoroughly before you buy or partner. By doing so, you’ll avoid hard sell techniques and make the cyber universe less inviting for criminals to engage in deceptive practices.

And if you do find yourself among those cheated people, don’t bury your head in the sand. Though you may have ignored “buyer beware” signs, there’s no need to remain a victim for long. Educate others through WSI’s network of bulletin boards and alerts. Become a consumer advocate. Roar like a lion (even though your personality might be more “lambish”.) Just don’t stand for scams.

Together, you and WSI will slow the growth of Internet con artistry, thereby making it a better place for current and future generations around the globe to exchange goods and services.
