A Trupanion Territory Partner is a pet enthusiast who owns the rights to market our product within a stated territory and is compensated for all pets enrolled within that territory.

The Pet Insurance Industry
The concept of pet health insurance originated in the UK 20 years ago. In some countries, greater than 20% and even up to 50% of pet owners have invested in some form of coverage for their pets. There are over 176 million pet cats and dogs in the United States and astonishingly only 1% of these pets are insured.
As veterinary medicine technology continues to increase, pet owners find themselves not able to afford proper pet care. Some pet owners are forced to choose between their pocketbooks and their pets. Trupanion pet insurance is designed to alleviate much of the financial burden and uncertainty that caring for a loved pet can bring.

Since our founding in 1999, our purpose has been to enhance the relationship between pet owners and their chosen veterinarians by providing simple, fair & affordable pet insurance. Our coverage plans were designed by a veterinarian, and our passion is to ensure that every vet is able to provide the best care for each pet. In turn, the cherished bond between the pet and pet owner is protected.
We reward responsible pet owners.
Trupanion is designed for pet owners who spay or neuter their pets and make routine visits to their vets to administer routine preventive health care.
We do not punish the owners of unlucky pets.
If an insured pet becomes sick or injured, Trupanion will pay up to US$20,000 for diagnostic tests, surgeries, and medications recommended by their chosen veterinarian. For instance, if we paid a claim for US$4,000 a pet owner would have US$16,000 of coverage remaining for the pet’s lifetime.
We cover more than our carriers.
Our members have no deductibles for veterinary medical costs and only pay for their veterinarian's examination fee and the first US$25 of any daily hospital boarding fees. Trupanion pays 90% of an approved claim, leaving the pet owner responsible for just 10%.
