 Newk’s Express café offers an express casual dining experience in a refreshing and stylish atmosphere with an emphasis on freshness and flavor. We serve up spectacular salads, oven baked sandwiches, California-style pizzas, made-from-scratch soups and homemade cakes from Newk’s open kitchen. We provide each customer with many ways to enjoy Newk’s, and help franchise owners maximize the benefit of each customer relationship. The concept offers dine-in, takeout, on-site catering, retail sales and corporate sales programs.
Franchising since 2005, Newk’s Express Café is now gearing up for aggressive growth throughout the Southeast, Midwest and Southwest regions of the United States. History
 The team behind Newk’s Franchise Company, LLC has a special talent for developing innovative restaurant concepts that not only meet consumer’s current needs, but anticipate their future needs as well. As the founders of McAlister’s Deli, Don Newcomb, Debra Bryson and Chris Newcomb pioneered the fast casual restaurant concept, defining and energizing the fastest-growing segment in the restaurant industry.
After providing a solid foundation and establishing strong upward growth for McAlister’s Deli, they sold the successful chain to focus on creating the future of fast casual dining. The Newk’s Express Café concept has been developed and refined to meet the needs of consumers and franchise operators alike. For consumers, Newk’s Express Café units provide a tantalizing variety of made-to-order menu choices, available for comfortable dining in or for convenient pick-up. For franchise owners, it’s a streamlined, low labor operation that’s designed for efficiency, site adaptability and multiple revenue opportunities.
Menu
The philosophy of Newk’s Express Café is simple: give guests good reasons to visit and give more good reasons to come back. And there are no reasons better than a variety of fresh, delicious choices made fresh-to-order and served with a smile.
Our menu offers an appetizing assortment of items including:

 Restaurant Unit Sales and Size
Newk’s brings to the table a proven concept. Our Franchise Disclosure Document states that in 2008, company units that were open at least a year had revenues between US$2.336 and US$3 million in a 3,500-4,500 square foot space (either endcap or freestanding). The concept is adaptable to many venues including enclosed malls and food courts, university or office locations, airports, train stations and other non-traditional locations.
Locations
Newk’s currently operates 5 company restaurants in Mississippi and has signed multi-unit franchise development agreements in 8 states. To date, there are 19 franchised locations open with another 80 already sold. Within the next five years, Newk’s intends to award and open over 250 new franchise units. We continue to build and operate new company units in selected markets.
 Franchisee Requirements
At Newk’s Franchise Company, we set the bar high for all we do, including the selection of franchise owners. Newk’s is looking for experienced restaurateurs with a track record of success opening and running multiple unit operations. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three years experience and be financially and operationally capable of developing at least 3 -5 Newk’s Express Café locations. The total investment for a single unit is estimated to be between US$710,000 and US$1,040,000.
Other requirements:
Franchise Fee: US$40,000, 50% deposit of fee on additional units
Royalty: 5% of Gross Sales
Advertising: ½ percent for production; 1% local marketing
Training: 5 weeks of training for GM and at least one assistant
Minimum Liquidity Requirement: US$600,000 for a 3 unit commitment
