When my partner Ann and I opened the first Hair Cuttery about 30 years ago, it was with a specific vision. As entrepreneurs at heart, we wanted to be in business for ourselves and, as Stylists, the greatest opportunity seemed to be in the hair care industry. We introduced the Washington, DC area to a revolutionary, new brand of full service salons where clients could walk in and have their hair cut, colored or permed with no appointment.

While the reasons for our success are many, the key is our unusually strong relationship with our Stylist community. It's what differentiates us from the other value salon chains. We have one of the highest Associate retention levels in the hair care industry among our nearly 10,000 Stylists, which translates into loyal customers. High Stylist retention rates also mean Hair Cuttery spends more time on advanced training and building long-term relationships.

FRANCHISE SUPPORT
Opening a franchise is no small undertaking, especially if the hair care business is new to you. As a potential Hair Cuttery franchisee, we expect that you will want everything to be in place as you begin your business venture. You will benefit from our expertise in every phase of business development-site selection, layout and interior design, comprehensive training, professional marketing support and product and merchandising.

Site Selection:

Our highly qualified real estate development team will help you choose the right location for your Hair Cuttery salon, taking into account financial modeling, demographic analysis, lease negotiations and relationships with real estate developers.

Layout and Interior Décor:

One of the elements that constitutes a professional appearance is a consistent look from salon to salon. Over the years we've developed a unique salon image that projects the expertise and quality of our brand, our people and our operation, and sets us apart from other value-oriented salons. Our construction team will provide you with design specifications that create good traffic flow for both Associates and customers alike. Project management assistance is optional.

Comprehensive Training:

There's no better way to learn how a salon runs than to have a hands-on experience. So we'll provide you with extensive training in an actual salon environment. Our comprehensive program includes cultural, business success, salon operations and salon management systems training. In addition, we'll provide initial and ongoing technical training in cuts, color, texture and style. Class work and our operations manual-a comprehensive resource-will complement your on-site training.

Marketing Support:
Advertising and public relations programs have been an integral part of our success. Our marketing team and advertising agency work together to develop a Hair Cuttery image and brand, and we'll work with you, too. We have a time-tested, proven grand opening program and effective marketing. Our marketing department is available to assist with your local media planning and buying, creative development, promotions and in-salon materials.

Product and Merchandising:

We'll give you the tools to sell salon products through proven up-sell and add-on techniques. We'll also help with loss prevention and inventory management, along with merchandising and point of sale (POS) materials. You will benefit from purchasing products through Hair Cuttery at our negotiated cost, which is a significant discount, versus purchasing through a distributor. The bottom line is more profit for you.
